The Route, Stop by Stop
Seoul (5 days)

Gyeongju (1.5 days)
A KTX ride south from Seoul Station to Singyeongju, then a short taxi to Hwangnidan-gil. Ancient tombs, Cheomseongdae, Donggung Palace lit up at night, and a UNESCO tour covering Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto. Full breakdown in our 1-2 Days in Gyeongju itinerary.
Busan (2.5 days)

Jeju (2 days)
A short flight from Busan's Gimhae Airport. A rental car, the Parnas Hotel in Jungmun, and a planned loop of lava tubes, beaches, cliffs, and Seongsan Ilchulbong — though rain followed us the whole time, so treat our experience here as a cautionary note as much as a recommendation. Why We Ordered It This Way
Starting in Seoul made sense logistically (it's the main international gateway) and let Zé's parents join for the busiest, most activity-packed stretch. Working south from Seoul through Gyeongju and Busan follows the natural KTX/taxi corridor, and ending in Jeju — reachable only by flight — made sense as a final, more relaxed stop before heading home. In hindsight, we'd keep the order the same; the only thing we'd change is checking Jeju's forecast before locking in those dates.

Is 11 days enough for South Korea?
Yes, for this four-stop route. We could have easily spent longer in Seoul alone, but 11 days let us see a genuinely representative slice of the country.
What's the best order to visit these four places?
Seoul → Gyeongju → Busan → Jeju follows the natural transport corridor south, then a flight out to the island. We'd recommend the same order.
