Honest answer: only if you're confident the weather will hold. It rained for our entire stay, and it genuinely wasn't worth it as a result.
This is the one post in our whole South Korea series where our verdict comes with a real asterisk. Here's exactly what happened and why we'd still tell you to go — just not blindly.
What Went Wrong for Us
We stayed at the Parnas Hotel Jeju in Jungmun — a genuinely excellent 5-star property with an infinity pool, spa, and Jungmun Beach five minutes away — and rented a car to loop the island over two full days. On paper, the itinerary was strong: lava tube caves, white sand beaches, a tea museum, basalt cliffs, one of the world's only waterfalls that drops directly into the sea, and Seongsan Ilchulbong's UNESCO-listed sunrise peak.
In practice, it rained the entire time we were there. We barely explored. Beaches that are supposed to be turquoise and stunning were grey and unwelcoming, several of the outdoor sights lose most of their appeal in heavy rain, and we ended up spending far more time at the hotel than planned.
What We'd Still Recommend
The hotel itself was genuinely excellent, and we don't regret that part at all. And on a clear day, everything on the itinerary — Hallim Park's lava tubes, Jusangjeollidae's basalt cliffs, Jeongbang Waterfall, Seongsan Ilchulbong, the Haenyeo divers — sounds and, based on what we could see even through the rain, looks spectacular. This is an island built around outdoor, weather-dependent experiences, and that's exactly why the forecast matters so much more here than anywhere else on our Korea trip.

Our Honest Verdict
Jeju is worth visiting — but only if you can be reasonably confident about the weather, or you're flexible enough to shift your dates around a forecast. If it's raining for your whole window, seriously consider whether your time is better spent elsewhere in Korea. Everything else on our Korea trip was worth it without reservation. Jeju is the one exception.
